Elliott Tarson - Chairman of the Board
Elliott is the founder of KIMCO Corporation, which he acquired as a small company called Keptclean Industrial Maintenance Corporation, in 1970. Under his leadership, KIMCO grew from a contract building maintenance company with annual sales of less than $20,000 to a multi-facility service provider with over 5,000 employees, servicing accounts throughout the United States, and with over $100 million in revenue.
David Tarson - President
David joined KIMCO Corporation in 1978, as a field supervisor. In his over 25 years of experience David has developed a well-rounded understanding of the industry, working in every department of the company, from Special Projects, to Regional Manager, and up through the ranks of management to his current position as President. In this position, David oversees all KIMCO departments and strategic planning, as well as customer satisfaction.
Keith Tarson - Senior Executive Vice President/MIS Manager
With a business degree from Indiana University, Keith joined the KIMCO team in 1982, as an account Executive. During Keith’s career in the contract building maintenance industry he has acquired experience in all areas of KIMCO operations, and has focused much of his attention on leading the way in information technology systems. In his current role as Senior Executive Vice-President, Keith manages KIMCO's information systems, human resources, warehouse operations and acquisitions. He also assists in strategic planning and client satisfaction.
John H. Barrett - Chief Executive Officer
With numerous years of senior level management experience in the facilities services industry throughout America, John is the Chief Executive Officer at KIMCO Corporation. He is responsible for overall firm leadership and is accountable to our clients, employees and our key stakeholders to ensure that KIMCO company goals are realized. John graduated from the University of Michigan in 1981, with a degree in Economics and Speech Communications. He received his Masters in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance and Marketing from the University of Chicago.
Richard Wender - Executive Vice President
Richard has been with KIMCO for over 25 years. After earning his MBA at Loyola University in 1984, Richard was promoted to Senior Vice-President, and later to his current position as Executive Vice President. Richard's responsibilities include the overall management of P & L and Operations for KIMCO's offices in markets outside the Chicago area, as well as Small Box Retail, in addition to strategic planning for growing new markets.
Nathaniel B. Shaw - Executive Vice President
Nathaniel brings to KIMCO a rich history of success in the national facilities services industry, including building organizations from the ground up as an executive and owner. He is responsible for driving all of KIMCO’s sales and marketing activities. Nathaniel earned his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his Masters in Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame.
Amy Polakow - Public Relations Director
After 25 years in Public Education, as a Special Education teacher, a Public Relations Director, and an author of an award winning biography for middle and high school students, Amy came to KIMCO in 2000 as Public Relations Director. In this role, Amy has developed all the marketing materials and trade show participation for KIMCO and its’ subsidiary companies, has coordinated all the major corporate functions, has developed the business services/administrative support department, and has been instrumental in enhancing corporate infrastructure process and procedures to accommodate KIMCO's rapid growth in recent years.
Stacey S. Glowinski, CPA - Vice President and Controller
Stacey Glowinski is entering her seventh year at KIMCO. She graduated from Marquette University with a BBA in Accounting. Before joining our company, she was a Senior Auditor with a Big Four Accounting firm, and had over 10 years of senior financial management experience at other privately held service firms. Her primary mission at KIMCO has been to respond to the challenges of the company's rapid growth through the implementation of new technology and continual system improvements.
Sandra Melton - Senior Vice President
Sandra's background includes a B.B.A in Marketing from the University of Mississippi, and 16 years of experience in the facilities maintenance industry. Sandra began working at KIMCO in 1990, as an account executive in Memphis. Her outstanding performance there, and then as regional manager, led to a promotion to Regional Vice President, and then to her current position as Senior Vice-President of Sales & Customer Service for the Chicago Region. Sandra oversees the development of customer relationships and sales for both the commercial and retail sectors in KIMCO's vital home city.
Sean Letwat - Senior Vice President
Classically trained in communications, Sean earned a BA in Speech Communications from the University of Illinois. Joining KIMCO in 1991 as a telemarketer, over the past 16 years Sean has also held the positions of Salesman, Regional Manager, Regional Vice President, and now Senior Vice President. Sean is responsible for the overall management of P & L and sales for a footprint including central & southern Indiana, Kentucky, and Tennessee, along with national portfolio sales efforts.
Sophie White – Senior Vice President
Sophie White leads Chicago Operations on a daily basis. Sophie got her start as a cleaner with KIMCO in 1985, working her way up to Special Operations Manager, then Regional Operations Manager, before being promoted to Senior Vice President in 2001. Sophie has attended Illinois Community College, and is active with her family and in real estate investment. Sophie is responsible for KIMCO’s important core Chicago commercial operations, spanning the greater Chicagoland area.
Rick Dassow – Senior Vice President
Rick Dassow is responsible for our janitorial and mechanical services in the western part of the country. He brings a diverse background of facilities and real estate expertise, and has an extensive background in running large divisions for national facility service organizations. Rick has an undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin Madison, and a graduate degree in finance from DePaul University.
Mazen Rihani – Vice President of Retail Operations
Mazen Rihani graduated from Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) in 1988 with a Bachelors degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering, Hardware Design and a minor in Industrial Engineering. He immediately joined KIMCO starting in the accounting department as a budgets and job cost analyst, and shortly moved to the Operations side as a Field Supervisor, Area Manager, Special Projects Manager, Training Manager, and eventually became Director of Human Resources. When KIMCO opened the Retail Division in 2002, Mazen became the Director of Retail Operations, eventually being promoted to his current position as a VP of Retail Operations. Mazen's responsibilities include the overall management of P & L for many of KIMCO's Retail Division accounts and overseeing operations for parts of the Midwest Region, and all of the Eastern Region.
Patrick Cernyar – Vice President of Retail Operations
Patrick Cernyar brings 26 years of janitorial and retail cleaning operations experience to KIMCO. Patrick is in charge of many of the company’s big box retail operations throughout the nation. He has a degree in Mechanical Technology, and he has helped spearhead KIMCO’s rapid growth in the retail sector. Patrick enjoys fishing, hunting, and motorcycles and spending time with his wife, son, and four daughters. Mr. Cernyar is also very active in the Knights of Columbus.
Dana Bertogli – Director of Best Practices
Joining KIMCO in 2005, Dana brings his 25 years of cleaning management experience to form KIMCO’s new and innovative Best Practice Department. Responsible for research, design and implementation of unique and highly productive cleaning systems, Dana also provides leadership for all procurement/purchasing functions at KIMCO. Dana holds an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the University of Iowa and a Masters Degree in Health Care Administration from Washington University in Saint Louis.
Kevin Babcock - Director of Information Technology
Kevin brings to KIMCO over 20 years of technical knowledge in the facility service industry. He is responsible for advancing KIMCO's technical development initiatives in all aspects of data and communications while maintaining core infrastructure. He graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a BS in Mathematics and Computer Science. Kevin is active in a number of technology associations and continuing education avenues.
